This is an extremely simple dish we prepared in my methods of cooking class last week. It is a perfect side dish for company as it looks beautiful. I made this for a snack for DHPlzak and I this weekend.
Broiled Tomato
Recipe from Kendall College
1 tomato, vine riped
2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp butter, melted
1 tbsp thyme, fresh
salt, to taste
Core and halve the tomato. Sprinkle sugar on top of each and place under boiler until caramelized, approximately 5-10 minutes.
Drizzle with melted butter and garnish with thyme (you could also use parsley or cilantro) and salt.
