After making carmel apples with our loot from The Elegant Farmer, I still had 14 apples left and didn't want to see them go bad. I saw this recipe and thought it would be a great snack for our lunches this week. It seriously is the best apple sauce I have ever had!
Apple Sauce
Adapted from A Year of Crockpotting
4 large apples, skinned & cored
1 lemon, juiced
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
1 t brown sugar
1/4 c. water
Skin, core, and cut your apples into slices. Place pieces into crockpot. Add the juice from the lemon, and the water. Pour in the vanilla and add cinnamon and brown sugar. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours (of high for 2-3 hours). When the apples are super tender, mash with a potato masher or large fork.
